Second Day of ISFJ 25: Meraki Blends Literary Creativity with Mathematical Prowess

Lucknow: The second day of the Inter School Jaipuria Fest 2025 (ISFJ 25) at Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, was marked by a vibrant fusion of literary arts and mathematical talent as the “Meraki” segment took center stage. The event drew over 500 students from more than 15 schools across the city, transforming the campus into a dynamic hub of intellectual and creative competition.

The literary events showcased a wide range of skills. The highly anticipated debate competition, divided into three categories—Power Rangers, Avengers, and Titans—saw students engage in compelling discussions on contemporary and complex issues. Debaters tackled topics ranging from the impact of excessive dependency on AI on creativity to the ethical conflict between the Supreme Court’s stray dog relocation order and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Adding to the linguistic flair, the “आँखों देखी” event provided a platform for aspiring journalists to demonstrate their news reporting skills, while the “काव्याभिव्यक्ति” event celebrated poetic expression through heartfelt recitations and dramatic acting.

Humor and wit were on full display in the solo humor event, “हँसते-हँसते कट जाए रस्ते,” where participants entertained the audience with comedic speeches about everyday life. A unique highlight was “Thy Bard’s Market,” which added a theatrical twist. Here, teams sold modern products like language translator earbuds, self-driving cars, smartwatches, and air fryers, all while speaking exclusively in Shakespearean English, delighting judges and onlookers alike. The digital age was also embraced through the “Social Media Campaign” event, where students crafted literary-themed online campaigns to capture trending ideas.

Simultaneously, the “Mathematica” section put students’ logical and analytical skills to the test. The “Math Millionaire” quiz engaged teams in a fast-paced, multi-level challenge of logic and computation. The campus itself became a puzzle with the Treasure Hunt, which had participants solving intricate mathematical riddles to progress. In the “Data Detective” event, students were tasked with unraveling mysteries using grade-specific math skills, while the “Design Thinking” competition challenged teams to develop innovative and feasible solutions to real-world problems.

The day’s proceedings concluded with an electrifying performance by the Jaipuria student band, which captivated the audience with classic and alternative rock anthems, including “Paranoid,” “Second Boulevard of the Broken Child,” and The Cranberries’ iconic hit, “Zombie.” The musical finale provided a perfect end to a day filled with intellectual pursuit and creative expression. In the final results, Stella Maris Inter College was named the overall champion of Meraki, securing the first position, with GD placing a close second.
